For The Living
Trail-blazing evolution
paint-balling poetry onto blank pages
words grass-hopper along the lines
linking concepts in novel pictures
magnetising Stephen King
for summary execution,
pirate’s treasure-trove
buried beneath crackling sands of DUP
NaPo hosting stars A+
with exemplary encouragement
masterminded
with calm psychology
as Magnetron spots anomalies,
Bloody Mary walks the spittle-talk
and an architect stretches designs
to incorporate pencilled portraiture
of history’s heroism with poets.
Readers stand back struggling to find
the right expression - then it comes:
“Make Way for the Living”.

Author's Note
Comp entry for "Doppelgänger: the DUP Oscars", hosted by highlyfunctional.

I find Johnny Blaze’s poetry combines surprise and straight-talking with a sense of feet-on-the-ground and a subtle undercurrent of the ephemeral nature of things.
“Make Way for the Living”: song by Harry Manx.

Thank you - been holding in my mind what to write for some time - it was a bit nerve-wracking as time was ticking through the month and I was continually 'lost for words'. (phew!)

DAMN. Thank you, Josh. I'll be sure to have the gang RL it soon. I wish I could, but I'm currently empty on RL space LOL
I'm very honored you took the time to craft something that took into consideration all the accounts I post under. And you wrote in a style that truly reflects my writing.

Woah! Thank you. With all those RLs suddenly appearing I am reminded of the impact of 'group-power'.

Nicely done Josh. Makes one want to read through every single piece Johnny's posted.

Thank you Wally; I did my bit of 'research' of course but here on DUP there is so much, we'd all need another life-time to appreciate it all - but then of course there'd be even more to read :))

LoL I wouldn't go that far, Wally. I've penned quite a few disasterpieces along the route.

Good or bad, it's always great to see when something blows your mind or if something just makes you, huh?

This is really fitting, I like it, good comprehensive description, observant and complimentary :)

Thank you PoetsRevenge. You've captured my intention when I was wondering how to approach this writing about JB.

Thanks Harry, and for the RL. It was a long gestation but glad to get there in time.
