Mirrored Dream
I also had a dream last night
not comparing to Rev King
but I saw a world where
The disabled were not
stared at like freaks
ostracized
retards
Lame
ducks
cripples
in exile
I had a dream
disability
unseen instead normal
we crave for normality
love, compassion, I had a dream
not comparing to Rev King
but I saw a world where
The disabled were not
stared at like freaks
ostracized
retards
Lame
ducks
cripples
in exile
I had a dream
disability
unseen instead normal
we crave for normality
love, compassion, I had a dream

Disability carries its invisible baggage, those that like neat little labels to put difference in a box , will never understand the daily struggle just to function in a world that says it cares , but would rather that you wouldn’t come out of the box

Left me speechless Dave.
Mirror, indeed is this gem.
Sad reality unfortunately
cruelty is sometimes taken as cool.
Expression. Timeless.

Tender write David. I believe we are creeping incrementally toward greater awareness, which naturally engenders empathy. 💖

I really hope you are right. By our deeds and words we need to make it so :-)))))
Re. Mirrored Dream
To me the dream is comparable to Rev King - it's just that evolution in consciousness/awareness seems to have to go through phases, first skin-colour then disability - sounds to me like you are continuing 'the work' he is famous for spearheading. You are definitely following in honourable footsteps :))

Don't see my disabilities, but rather my abilities. I can't tell you the number of times I nearly came to blows with kids over my father's wheelchair. I was a bit of a fireball where that nonsense was concerned. And I'm just a serious about it now. I love this one, my friend. SO much
