Consider if You Will the Perfumed Scents – Sonnet Fifty-Six
Consider if you will the perfumed scents
That lovers make in heated night’s forays
Within the sweat-fed vacuums and descents
That opened hearts and opened wells betray.
Our sticky sweetness bared in glossy cloth
Of other’s haunty flavors wet contrived,
Our coverings, that naked flesh emboss
With lovings’ sprays and flows from love derived.
The deepness of your welling concourse streams
In ever flowing wonder ever brought,
That gathers with my fervent fountain’s gleams,
The rising of that rushing glut’s allot.
In hopes of clothing each in other’s gifts
Let every crashing wave wash us adrift.
That lovers make in heated night’s forays
Within the sweat-fed vacuums and descents
That opened hearts and opened wells betray.
Our sticky sweetness bared in glossy cloth
Of other’s haunty flavors wet contrived,
Our coverings, that naked flesh emboss
With lovings’ sprays and flows from love derived.
The deepness of your welling concourse streams
In ever flowing wonder ever brought,
That gathers with my fervent fountain’s gleams,
The rising of that rushing glut’s allot.
In hopes of clothing each in other’s gifts
Let every crashing wave wash us adrift.
