Twinned Planet
On a twinned planet
where stars shine in different patterns
presenting constellations with unusual names,
valued perspectives shape parallel curves
converging at vanishing points
of uncommon human experience.
I’ve been taken there on many occasions
returning to my world
filled with a sense of intriguing possibilities.
Beyond my usual radars, clipping ships
sail the horizon following special instructions;
they filter my assumptions through a strain
made with soft, yet durable, gauze.
A stepped pyramid is imprinted in my mind
as a place which holds treasures from ancient times.
If you wish to remain the same, don’t go there.

Yelluw_always is one of DUP’s deaf poets - and from that pointed experience of life I have been educated through her poetry to understand humanity with a keener eye. She will do the same for you - if you let her.

A very lovely tribute to Haley, Josh. I was just telling someone I missed her cracking the whip on our challenge comps!

Thank you Ahavati, I'm always glad to see Haley whenever she publishes. I thought her NaPo series was very insightful.

I would think the two perspectives might round out the picture...
which now I can see
should appear as 3-D...
at least to you and me... Ely

Thank you Ely for the read and comment. Perspectives and PoVs is what makes it interesting.

Wonderful tribute to an amazing poet. Such respect for her, it's why I chose her for my first Spotlight segment, wanted to start off on the right foot.

She is indeed a wonderful poet; thank you Daniel. Not sure what is "Spotlight segment" - can you point me towards it?
Re: Re. Twinned Planet
Yes sir I can. We're doing an official podcast for the site. I do the Spotlight on poetry segment. We have two episodes out so far. They are posted here and on multiple platforms on the 16th of each month. Last month I read and analyzed a poem from the amazing Lakeside series by Yelluw. This month I did a spotlight on S L E by RevolutionAL, which I promised would be touching during the introduction. On YouTube they were taking the piss out of me with calls for a t-shirt reading, "I was touched by DanielChristensen" lol.

Thank you, I'm a bit slow on the uptake with these things but I will get there. I hadn't realised the podcast had 'expanded' as it were.

Yeah I was a late addition to the team. I prepared for my poem of the month win interview, made an impression during that I guess and asked to join the staff. I enjoy doing the Spotlight segment. Happy listening brother and hope you're having a wonderful day.

Thank you - it's gently raining here this evening - very strange weather for this time of year for central Portugal.

This is a great tribute to her eclectic and mind -expanding style, even the ending seems so her, I really liked her Napo series, it was different, like sort of uber-creative and a different perspective on a subject..

Thank you PoetsRevenge for the comment. Haley was quite some discovery for me with her NaPo series.

Beautiful write Josh. An excellent tribute that makes me even more curious to read yelluw's work. And in that twinned planet, may be someone is looking up at their sky, wondering about us.

Thank you Wally. It's amazing how in one sense we live in our own 'private' bubbles - but at some other level of our humanity we connect so deeply (though this theory is about to be put to a severe test pending our about-to-be new prime-minister and the whole very divisive self-inflicted wound of the Brexit saga being reactivated as the October deadline approaches).

Thank you Jemac - have you listened to Daniel's 'spotlight' on one of her poems - the last 12 minutes or so of the first DUP podcast published on 16th May?

Re. Twinned Planet
I'm not familiar with the poet who inspires you here, but I will check her out. I do know that this is fine work whoever the genesis.

Thank you for reading - and RL too.
I came across yelluw_always just before the NaPo month this year - and then she was a participant in it - and I found her daily contributions a fascinating perspective 'seeing' the world differently due to deafness - and writing poetry with sign-language in mind - which makes different connections due to the way sign-language 'works'.
Daniel Christensen has done a 'spotlight' on one of her NaPo poems. It is the last 12 minutes of the first DUP podcast published on 16th May.
