Hanging On
How could you leave, a man with nothing left
I was hanging by a thread and you cut me free
I've been holding on to your memory
But now that's fading with the pictures
The years I've been pushing it down and pushing it aside
Claiming sanity while you hold me down
I feel nothing anymore, and I'm so tired
How could you leave me when I needed you
You chose to leave and leave us waiting
For your smile and your laughing ways
Now I'm sitting in silence and remembering ghosts
Who do I turn to when you're voiceless
All I see is death and all I feel is numb
I'm praying to God to return what wasn't his
All I see is hurt and all I feel is grey
I'm screaming to you to return to my broken life
I was hanging by a thread and you cut me free
