Glow In The Dark

This is a new glow
seriously
the tracer
illuminates
my veins
lying here
in the dark

I have the greatest respect
for medicine and science
experiencing first-hand
the marvels of investigation

a shot of dye
in the blood
simulated stress
a quick antidote

Wondrous what can be done
to see the tale of a heart
and the connecting networks

Got the runner's high
without moving a muscle

I can really say
I've got radioactive blood
(cue retro Spiderman theme)

Still processing the morning
and the strange sensations
but the anxiety has passed.
