Let’s Dance this Insane, Stupid, Happy Dance – Sonnet Thirty-Five
Let’s dance this stupid, insane, happy dance,
From noon to night, from night to noon, aware
The music’s playing loud, the rest is chance.
So, throw your hands up like you just don’t care.
It’s thumpin’ bumpin’ in its grip and grind,
The window to the wall and back again.
It’s kickin’ like a slow-jams’ tangled bind.
Like killin’ lights and hittin’ night’s begin.
For ain’t life just a tired ass’s kick,
And it ain’t like we got another choice,
For life keeps rockin’ and the beat is sick, If we can just keep up and be its voice.
Let's take our asses to the floor and move,
The weirdest beat just leads a righteous groove.
