interesting pastime
strange way of dealing with anxieties stress
that wicked game
rolling darts whilst hammering coffin nails
nicotine stained fingers
constant reminders that this is for keeps
each ashened drag
another grain through the hour glass

Picked through the mountains morning mess
an overladen ashtray welcome
when pay day seems a mile and a quarter away
refused to die graceful with dignity
found dead
buried beneath an avalanche of cigarette butts
