Loss and

One time in a younger mind
I saw four walls and envisioned home
The word was bittersweet
An unexpected gift -
A beating or Taco Bell feast

Time and a different mind learned
Four walls can be a prison
Figuratively or quite literally
I began to despise home

Now, from the enlightened mind
I realize that I never knew home
Sleeping on concrete, walls are rare
And the families here are just as dysfunctional

I've been homeless my whole life, now I've just lost the walls
And I can start to make home
From me, oh...

What a mountain lies ahead.
