Blind Opposite
You're the up to my down
When it's easier to go straight, I go around
You're the light to my dark
You leave it spotless, I leave a mark
You're the right to my left
You listen and I play deaf
You're the opposite me
Are you pretending, or can you really not see
We're not meant to be
I push you away
You say you're here to stay
I was born to be forgotten
Your life was the opposite of misbegotten
We aren't yin and yang
I fight with words and fang
You don't have the scars that mark pain
I'm on my own team, a fighter in my own game
I have a gilded mask
You fell for her, the other me, I ask
But I don't have to look at you to know
Plainly, clearly, it shows
No one will or could love me
Don't you see
Too much bark, too much bite
Too much stubborn fight
For now that you see me
You turn away, leaving me
Damaged
Abandoned
Alone
Afraid
Distressed
But still kind of more
Depressed
When it's easier to go straight, I go around
You're the light to my dark
You leave it spotless, I leave a mark
You're the right to my left
You listen and I play deaf
You're the opposite me
Are you pretending, or can you really not see
We're not meant to be
I push you away
You say you're here to stay
I was born to be forgotten
