The age of Innocence
Seems the older I get
the younger I feel
compared to others,
so that I am nothing
but a small child
looking up at things
with virgin eyes
and an empty head
that does not know how,
filled only with roiling waves
that bring in muddled dreams
and clouds the real world
so that I blunder onwards
just out of reach of a hand that guides.

looking up at things
with virgin eyes

filled only with roiling waves

Always learning.... learning how much there still is to learn! It's like going backwards.....
Nice, thought-provoking.

I’m a child at heart too, even though I turned 40 earlier this year.
People who don’t enable their inner child to emerge end up ageing rapidly, and miserably.
So. Don’t ever be that person... besides it’s more fun being adventurous and lighthearted ! 😎👌🏽

Thing is I was and have always been an old soul, but now I feel younger and more vigorous having grown older; I also feel there is less I know about and understand in depth. The old soul was never grumpy but contemplative and wise in the ways of woes.

I am still somewhat an old soul but now with more meme knowledge so that I can swim deeply in different social circles if needs be.

The human experience - such a mix. But the art of muddling through can become high art. :))

I will probably still be figuring out what my self is when I die and maybe even beyond, better than being a know-it-all I suppose.

I think that's natural growth My Lord
to never see nor understand change until looking back ...
yet clarity seems elusive lol
