Leave Me Be

Stop telling me to enter a mindset,
Stop telling me to try what you did,
You think your such a threat?
Just because life has turned you so acrid?
I have feelings too,
Sorry I'm not bitter and wrapped in a happy facade like you,
Or happy-go-lucky, naive, all the time.
I am allowed to feel things other than happiness,
It doesn't mean I'm full of foolishness,
Only, that I actually react to the world around me.
 
So let me occasionally be angry,
Instead of pretending nothing bad goes on,
You don't need to treat me with such scorn.
No laws am I breaking,
No extreme societal taboos I am enacting,
So please, in the nicest way,
Shut up, leave me be, and go away.
I will be who I will be,
You don't hurt me, other than a headache, see?
