Reminisce
I often sit and reminisce
Of you and I, that summer when
With high school over, teenage bliss
And romance made us more than friends
My graduation party, lame!
I often sit and reminisce
When we drove down to Spooner’s Lane
The end of May: We’d only kissed
By August, we had reached Third Base
I swiped Pop’s gin, we drank our fill
I often sit and reminisce
Of making love on Signal Hill
We left for college, parting ways
And so, we ended summer’s tryst
Now all alone and middle-aged
I often sit and reminisce
Of you and I, that summer when
With high school over, teenage bliss
And romance made us more than friends
My graduation party, lame!
I often sit and reminisce
When we drove down to Spooner’s Lane
The end of May: We’d only kissed
By August, we had reached Third Base
I swiped Pop’s gin, we drank our fill
I often sit and reminisce
Of making love on Signal Hill
We left for college, parting ways
And so, we ended summer’s tryst
Now all alone and middle-aged
I often sit and reminisce
