Quatern Nr.06 — Age of Taboos

This is the age of many taboos    
hiding behind that old smokescreen ‘denier’    
stifling debate and contorting your views    
stoking emotions yet higher and higher    
    
Don’t talk of structural evil imposed    
this is the age of many taboos    
doors to our freedoms are constantly closed    
limiting options still open to choose    
     
Confusion is sown through the fakery news    
people bewildered are reaching for pills    
this is the age of many taboos    
with knock-on effects for our communal ills    
     
Don’t talk of chem-trails or Gypsies or war    
don’t talk of Palestine, Arabs or Jews    
white-wash your mind from the question ‘what for?’    
this is the age of many taboos.    
     
Noting the tyranny turning the screws    
sit up, be mindful, attentive - don’t whinge    
this is the age of many taboos    
don’t let it get to you, don’t get unhinged    
     
Know your psychology, practice be calm    
this is the age of many taboos    
shifting perspective … re-purpose alarm    
use it as lyrics for singin’ the blues    
     
This is the age of many taboos    
hush now dear citizen, speak not a word    
slowly but surely they’re building the zoos    
to cage us enslaved in a life that’s absurd    
     
So look at it slowly, tracking the flow    
this is the age of many taboos    
history reveals it has always been so    
ask an old angel, your god or your muse    
     
Though there are psychos who’re lighting the fuse    
shaping the narrative - don’t be surprised    
this is the age of many taboos    
but now it’s our turn to uncover the lies    
     
Following innocence back to the Source    
writing creatively, digging up clues -    
poetical spirits will power our course    
shedding new light on those many taboos.
