Abacus: Notes of an Online Journal
“Abacus”
So the fantasy pulled up short,
And I went back to hating boys.
And I wasn’t in love with life,
Like a desert tortoise, I hid.
I dropped out of college to think,
To be by myself for a while.
And just like an abacus, count
How many things left I could be.
To scuba dive the coral reefs,
Try trucking the outback of Oz.
Do a shout out on Diamond Head,
Walk the Great Wall of China, once!
