New Moon Haiku🐅

( a renga of linked haiku/senryu )

the birth of spring moon —
sleep, like fresh buds unopened
stars reveal its shape

in woodland’s flicker,
early new leaves’ feathered hush
dark empty cabin

breath of a hunter
stalking, tracking, listening
for the little one

eyes of fei tsui
glare in new moon’s haunting
maternal resolve

quickens to the scent —
huntsman’s fear is not aware
as he closes in

the silence follows
inside the warm nursery lair
the noble child’s hiss

her prowl light as air,
the undergrowth has no voice
his mother pounces

fei tsui = pale green translucent jadeite stone of quality
