Wishing For The Rain
The sky was ashen
Densed with gray clouds hovering
Ready to spill rain
I had hoped for a downpour
To feel the raindrops falling
But it never came
It was only a shower
Too little to soak
The flowers and leaves of trees
Too scanty to drench me wet
I felt like a child
Wishing for a heavy rain
To feel that magic
That sense of childlike delight
That only a rain can bring
I miss those moments
When rain was a source of joy
To my young spirit
When drops of rain felt so soft
On my skin sweet on my lips
Those childlike wonder
That time has stolen away
Rarely come to me
I have lost my inner child
And wish to find her again
Densed with gray clouds hovering
Ready to spill rain
I had hoped for a downpour
To feel the raindrops falling
But it never came
It was only a shower
Too little to soak
The flowers and leaves of trees
Too scanty to drench me wet
I felt like a child
Wishing for a heavy rain
To feel that magic
That sense of childlike delight
That only a rain can bring
I miss those moments
When rain was a source of joy
To my young spirit
When drops of rain felt so soft
On my skin sweet on my lips
Those childlike wonder
That time has stolen away
Rarely come to me
I have lost my inner child
And wish to find her again
