Lip; Sink

This mouth gets me into trouble
Whether I speak too much or quietly mumble
Sometimes I blurt out how moronic I am,
Others I stay silent and still they see a struggle

These lips, cracked and dry, from nervously licking them
In crowds of voices, myself I condemn
These very lips, you’ve watched and you’ve kissed.
Not sweet enough, I fear they offend

This tongue has twisted and tripped over words
Fighting back, she seems disturbed -
Spitting them out, scrambling around,
regretfully swallowing them back in reverse.

These teeth, they’ve clinked together trying to make sense
Chattering, they find ways to lose all our friends;
Biting my cheeks until they bleed,
Toxic idealizing; clambering, to make amends.

This throat, choking on fire
Quickly swallowing hopeless desire
Vomit, bile, sipping on water
To distinguish any love of a young live wire.

And to digest, and stand up straight
Atleast for the public, in the mirror, lonely escape
And a sign on Cupid’s bow, ‘ kiss these lips at your own risk ‘
