event horizon
vivid evocation:
the first night
i slid over you like rain
over damp earth on a hill,
a midnight tune
transmorgrified,
a dawn song,
white linen,
scarlet curtains,
busted tv,
no playstation,
but we weren't bummed -
too busy being lost
in irises.
*
and now we smell like gardeners,
like vines bursting with fruit
beneath ancient rubble,
echoing - the rhythmic
raking of leaves,
wind moaning through trees,
the steady flow of river water,
we look like crumpled flowers
in the palms of gods,
and we sink to the bottom
just moments before
being carried aloft.
creating constellations in your name:
with every breath,
i pull our love to heaven.
