Trust

The love I had
For you was true
You broke my heart
Without a clue
You left me alone
During my time of need
Bought every lie
That the nigga would feed
Thought I was playing you
But that was all lies
I told you truth
Looking you straight in your eyes
You didn't trust me
That's what hurts the most
I trusted you dearly
But then you got ghost
Played me like a game
Thinking you were getting played
I treated you like a queen
With me you should've stayed
Instead I'm all alone
Hurting again
Drunk off my sorrow
And this bottle of gin
Pain from trying to love
Left with a broken heart
A man who was once whole
Now falling apart
Dreams of finding love
Play through my mind
Hopes of finding a woman
One who's a rare find
One with love
Who also believes me
Don't listen to what she's told
Only what she sees
I'm not about games
Trust and believe
Forever by her side
I would never leave
These may seem like words
But they're from deep inside
Coming from a man
Who once had too much pride
I've been hurt
But I'm still here
Ready to love again
Doing it without fear
I need something real
That want be a bust
I need a real woman
Who can love and trust

Author's Note
This poem was inspired by my past attempt at having a relationship that failed thanks to an outside guy who was telling her lies just to get with her
