Glad Tidings
Sliced very slowly to the bone
His blood containing memories
For family scattered to the winds
Of friends that left him far behind
But still he dreams of better times
The innocence of younger days
The cynicism now removed
Reduced to little more than ash
He views the future with some faith
An angel on his left shoulder
She whispers in his waiting ear
"Merry Christmas, Happy New Year."
His blood containing memories
For family scattered to the winds
Of friends that left him far behind
But still he dreams of better times
The innocence of younger days
The cynicism now removed
Reduced to little more than ash
He views the future with some faith
An angel on his left shoulder
She whispers in his waiting ear
"Merry Christmas, Happy New Year."

Merry Christmas, crow. To me, Christmas is all about dreaming of better times - those yet to come even more than those past. May this season find you full of hope. Cheers!

Re. Glad Tidings
Bravo Sir Crow! With children becoming adults I worried what my future Christmas may bring. I don't do lonely well...you've helped me to realize that it's a choice. You bring a glowing reality and hopeful perspective to the season. Merry Christmas Sir!

I'm so glad this inspired some hope, Gahdess. I doubt that a writer like you could be fully alone, now or in the future. We do have family and DUP. Thank you for the comment and RL entry!
