The First Holiday

“Across the world a mad eye shine
For centuries bidding it’s time,
“A victim of an atrocity never committed
Kept alive from four who did it,

“With a ritualistic act considered universally wrong
That has been performed way to long,
“Violation of the soul, mind and flesh
Ending in screaming madness as it fall into a disturbing rest,

“During rest, its essence affects the world four times a year
Spreading madness, fear or twisted cheer,
“On Valentine’s Day where love is so sweet
It’s presence increase a partner’s chance to lie and cheat,

“That will fester and silently grow
Until bringing the individual down low,
“In ways that are sickening and unique
Followed by the cheater usually dying in their sleep,

“On Easter, with the reenactment of the ‘Passion of the Christ’
The one who plays Jesus mysteriously die that night,
“Crowds with anticipation, waiting for the play to start
Suddenly there is an inhuman scream and the church goes dark,

“Lights back on and on stage the main character dead
Missing hands, feet and never finding the head,
 Until on the third day
Discovered in a random church’s hallway,

“Halloween night is so soul shaking unclean
As children disappear mysteriously on the trick or treat scene,
“One minute the parent his holding the child’s hand-now they don’t
And forevermore they just won’t,

“Taken away and torn apart in the elemental chaos
Made whole again into chocolate and lollipops,
“Appearing during the next Halloween as bags of store candy
Passed out Halloween night to the little children’s fancy,

“On Christmas for those who make a Christmas list
They might get what they want, but with a wicked twist,
“All gifts will always permanently maim or mutilate
Embarrass the individual and if kill-that’s great,

“Each twisted deed weakens its prison
Bringing it one day closer to its annihilating vision,
“Cupid, Santa, Jesus and Lord October
Know if this happens it’s ultimately over”.
