THE MONSTER IN THE LIGHT
Is it a figment of my IMAGINATION or a relevance pertaining to my LIFE
Have I become such a MONSTER in your world, that all you can see is the ugly parts of ME
My monster is like being inside the eye of a STORM
Everything around me is CALM
But, if you look far enough you will see the CHAOS encircling me
The monster you perceive, is UGLY and causes you GRIEF
HATED and DISTASTEFUL
HURTFUL and WASTEFUL
Draining you of LIGHT and your own GOOD thoughts
THIS IS NOT WHO I AM
You do not get to place me in your BUKET of weighted DISTRUST
For I have not been in your LIFE long enough to have actually caused you PAIN
I do not know what has happened to the GRACIOUS and BEAUTIFUL person I once knew
That relevance goes for BOTH of us
Please do not hide within the DARKNESS of your own FATED monster
For if YOU and I would look long enough
We would see the LIGHT that gives ourselves the very ESSENCE to BREATHE
REALITY is, when our monsters have light shown on to them
They really are quite SMALL
Let us take away our monsters NURTURING darkness
By REFUSING to giving them a platform to live a life full of DECEIT

Very wise advice the toxicity of all our perceived monsters is always present in the eyes of others. We may not recognise these monsters within ourselves. This poem made me stop and think of the monster I have become and why change and improvement are always necessary :-))))

I do agree. If we take a look inside and recognize the importance of finding ones personal faults, it's not difficult to embrace our own humility. I find to often one is quick to judge an outward reflection of what one perceives is beauty or an individual perception of the monster they choose to see.

I agree: It's all in the choosing. We choose what we want to see is such a shallow shadow of reality and a willful compliance with conventional thinking - we need to learn to choose better and look with better eyes than that :-))))
