HUMILITY

I used to think, “ What does this person have to offer me in my life?”
Now I understand, “ What do “I” have to offer this person?”
It is not enough to be in someone's life experience and feel they should be better off simply because you are a decent human.
It is not enough to be helpful or have compassion for an individual's situation.
What matters to me is, how do people benefit from my humility and desire to succeed?
I am No different from anyone that has lived a life of trial and error.
I have never been handed a life off ease with clear instructions on getting through a day.
My life experiences are, beautiful and tragic. Pretty normal I believe.
My friends are few and cherished. So much so that  when a person befriends me, I easily become a better person. Because I choose my friends by their virtues and the desire to be the best at whatever they choose to be. No matter if they succeed or fail. It's all in the motivation to try.
Have I made poor choices in choosing friends? Yes. Many times.
But, I look at those people as a learning experience. Even though a person came into my life with hopefully good intentions. They or I chose to be absent from true friendship because it simply was to difficult to watch a person's lack of determination..
Humility is everything to me. As part is part of my need to feel satisfied. Humility with the desire to inspire is the type of friend I choose to be.
