Cheap Thrills
Sex and violence on the screen
When certain films don't keep it clean
The plots and themes are various
Every thrill vicarious
Viewers wallow in the waste
Not too concerned with better taste
Lurid touches that they favor
With the cheap thrills that they savor
No harm in all the flesh and blood
The fluids that come in a flood
The kicks may be vicarious
But benefits are various
After the bullets, after gore
The sex that knocks them to the floor
Viewers are more apt to find peace
After being granted some release.

I believe in the cathartic value of exploitation films, more hard to find these days. If viewers get their thrills from B movie guns and sex it might be a satisfaction, a perversely healthy one.

New movies are total shit. Same boring plots and a ton of green screen to make it fancy. We need to go back to the old "Pulp Fiction" type stuff or we're lost forever. Great poem btw

Thank you, vglleo. Movies now tend to have higher budgets and ridiculously elborate special effects. I miss real stunt work, and ham acting. Quentin Tarantino has the right idea. Thanks again!

The contrivance might be part of the charm. The lower the budget, the more resources come into play, out of necessity. Thank you Grace!

Thanks Josh. I'm glad the point is well taken. Pure exploitation films seem to be a dying breed on the big screen. There's always DVD.

I like my entertainment down and dirty. Hustler was a groundbreaking publication, in its way, just as much as Playboy. Playboy pics have always struck me as unreal, the beauties air brushed from their blemishes. Not true of Larry Flynt's mag. Thank you so much, Brenda!
