The Same Moon
( a Quatern )
This night, the same moon, you and I tonight,
The smoke is cleared we both can breathe again.
Among the ashes at our feet in spite,
The memory of burnt orange on the wane.
The air embracing us starts to grow cold,
This night, the same moon, you and I tonight.
But in your arms I’m warm, it shines like gold,
And from within, our hearts turn on the light.
From distant ridge where love has joined the fight,
The fireworks of embers as they fly,
This night, the same moon, you and I tonight,
Reminds us of summer’s 4th of July.
We live apart but here we shall remain,
And all about, surrounded by the sight.
To wait upon the blessing of the rain,
This night, the same moon, you and I tonight.

My thanks to you, Mark, if I may be so personal upon first meeting. I’ve been writing romantic & sensual since I was 14, and over time came erotic and all the rest. I agree with what you state on your profile page about the mind, which is indisputable truth.

Tiger Queen you rule in exotic places...This is why your writings are romantic sensual and now erotic as you've grown into a passionate lady...Thank you for calling me Greywolf Priest...I live in the woods learning my writings from the wisdom of nature...You truly show from starting at a young age...Your imagery and passion is from eternal minds eye of experience beyond your physical years on earth....I bow to you Tiger Queen...
Will follow your writings with humble worship...🐯🐺💋

Thank you, dear Catman, for joining me here for a read, and for your embrace of my fire ink. I love and appreciate when a fellow poet expresses if there’s a verse or description that stands out.

You are very welcome. That part reminded me of a girl that I loved, she's sort of a friend of mine. When I mean sort of, I meant that we haven't spoken in a teasing manner like we used to. She has changed, ever since she went to university; her attitude has changed.

This is an absolutely beautiful poem, dear Jade! No matter how far apart people are, their constant comfort is the presence of the same moon in the sky.
Well done, tigress! Stay safe.

That's beautiful Jadey.
So warm, and romantic amidst the sad backdrop. You melted my heart, young lady.

Love how you share the moon and defy encroaching smoke. I hope the danger has passed for you, Jade. It certainly hasn't stopped you from writing sublime quaterns.

Oh thank you, my friend, for your undying support of my ‘terns’, which i’ve loved writing since I learned about the form earlier this year.
As for my welfare, things have calmed down. The nearest fires cease to be an immediate threat. the winds are subtle breezes, and the night temps are aggressively colder. Now if I could only get a normal night’s sleep now & then...

Thanks for enjoying. And I’ve written many sensual poems that didn’t go there.

how different the moon looked last night,
reflected in eyes unclouded,
as approaching storm clears the skys.
I love this write.

Re: Re. The Same Moon
Thank you for describing your moon, the same as mine, both free of fire’s blush, preparing for the rain.
You’ll probably get rain first. I hope it puts out the remaining hot spots.
