like a black hole perhaps
not something we want to swallow us entirely but sometimes the void feels safer than anything

Sometimes the emptiness is the only thing left to cling to. Thank you for your comment.
Re. Depression poetry
I like your succinct wording, Postmortal, on this widespread human experience.
This is my poetic answer to the general issue of depression:

Thank you
I always find it bittersweet when someone clearly relates to my poems.

I hope you can swim
For the storm is raging
And we're taking on water at an alarming rate
There is no land in sight
No light to cut the inky darkness of this eternal night

There is no land in sight
No light to cut the inky darkness of this eternal night

Re: Re. Depression poetry
Then I shall continue to bail against the relentless onslaught of the sea
You stay firmly lashed to the ships wheel and steer a course
Perhaps the sun shall once again rise to grace you with it's light and warm you in it's embrace

All that we see is delusion.
So choose yours and hold on tight
Ride the storm into your imaginary light
I am bound to this ship of fools
Destined to sail this endless night

Ride the storm into your imaginary light
I am bound to this ship of fools
Destined to sail this endless night

Brenda
I'm always conflicted when someone connects or is affected by my words...
On one hand I'm honored and on the other saddened that you can relate.
☀️ May the sun find you today to warm your body and nurish your soul.

I understand dearest poet we go through so much that others just will not understand... I had a severe break from reality recently that lasted about two weeks because of my bipolar... you comforted me with your thoughts of beauty today...
