Red Flags
Red flags around me every night and day
Popping up in memory like instant replay
It happened to the baby mama
Everyone said It’s plain to see
To think I am immune to his bad habits
What’s so damn special about me
Coworker friend looking online
In search of a hot new date
Never crossed my mind
Not one little time
She would actually find MY soul mate
Boob restaurants and stripper clubs
Are where he liked to go
As long as they are one half of my age
His libido was sure to over flow
Frequently suspicious of infidelities
Even opens my phone with my thumb
Talk of STD’s, come on baby please
Take a lab test with me, just for fun
Another girls name rolls off his lips
Caught me by surprise
I could sense the guilt right away
Just by the look in his eyes
Hands me his phone, I’m free to look
For he says he has nothing to hide
As I scroll down to see just for myself
There she was hidden inside
And just like that he is onto the next
No time for tears or a broken heart
Who has time for grief or loss of sleep
When love was never there from the start
