Greed
Atherton, Northern California
Absurd amounts of money in these gated houses
Old Money
The kind of money that reeks of capitalistic slavery
Each of these beams within the fence represent one man’s broken spine
A miniature empire built over generations
For those that are willing to drudge over a pyramid constructed of people
Leaning on shoulders but mostly stepping on heads
I hurry through to get to El Camino Real where the poor neighborhood is
Where I can breathe
I cannot help but feel the energy of Atherton polluting upon my soul
The greed emanating from these compounds is stifling
No sense of community here
Just rich people shoveled in with their fortunes
With an alert eye towards everyone
It is humorous to see all these metal fences
Freaks that put themselves in a cage
