Broken Reflection

She gazes upon a broken reflection
Knowing it’s not because of the mirror
She stares closer in deep recollection
Wondering why the pain in her eyes has become clearer

The embarrassment of being toyed with by a master puppeteer
Did nothing but make her shed painful blood laced tears

Feeling so alone,
she knows her life is her own
Now with a heart of stone
She’s a heartless Queen on her throne

She once loved with all her heart
Once was happy, by that too fell apart
Once was truthful but that only brought pain
Once was faithful but that only brought rain.

What did she learn from her reflection?
For one thing there’s no such thing as perfection.
That all she has been through has been a painful ordeal
Last but not least, love is certainly not real.
