A Misunderstanding

She had asked me if the painting and all the drawings on the wall were mine.
Jeff took over the conversation and explained who they belonged to and I laughed to myself at the table and loosely quoted a friend of mine.
He was better with words.

While pointing at a typewriter he said,
'This is my canvas,
it has said more then a lot of people and things.
The painting and such?
I can't quite vouch for.'

She looked disinterested after that.
and that was okay with me,
really,
it was.

But
for a single
second.
Someone actually thought
that I
was a artist..

How
about
that?
