Living
Point A: Departure
"We do not see things as they are
but as we are.". . .
because we are organically
manufactured
by circumstance, becoming
products of our own environment;
our filters obscure perception
according to individual experience--
until the age of accountability
forces choice upon us:
direction, action, consequence
from our laborious harvest
even an unexpected bonus:
a golden star of evolution
beyond conditioning
when we cannot blame our past
or those who hurt us anymore;
as if such was ever justifiable
for pain we cause today
in righteous hatred's name
Point B: Enroute
"It is not the strongest or the most intelligent who will survive but those who can best manage change."
Nothing can deter destiny
nor prevent Fate her opportunity
to sow a seed
despite one's failure to learn
How many times
has she widely sacrificed her heart
on the altar of opportunity
to present change;
her light spilling as silverfish
over the threshold of our lives
before we overcome fear
trust in the charted course
Experience is a paradox, an oxymoron
of contrast manifesting
only what we transmit
and nothing more
Projecting Love
draws comfort and light;
a continual loop of disdain
reflects nothing less
Point C: Arrival
"Oh ye of little faith
why did you doubt". . .
your instinct to survive
is stronger than most
We must all swallow injustice
at some point in time
to learn the curriculum
and know the taste
The lesson is simply this:
How you react
determines your fate--
one-way, or round trip. . .
to experience it over again;
until finally, in acceptance
you discover peace, and living
becomes as it was meant
regardless of what presents itself
