A Knight And A Maiden
This is the story from a thousand years fore.
Of a knight and a maiden princess.
A story that starts with the abduction from her bed kicking and screaming under duress.
Through a stormy night they rode as a troubled soul prepared to go to bring her back safe to save his own soul.
With gleaming armour and a heavy heart he strode headlong into the night on a steed to find her.
Unbeknown to all he had an ulterior motive that struck like lightning in this mind.
For this lowly knight had for so long watched the princess, grew to know and grew to love her.
Though he knew it was unattainable still he did seek, quietly dreamed and delighted to see what could never be.
Through driving rain the horse galloped thudding the name of ----, visions seeped into his mind and rain ran from his face and chest plate.
With sword clunking by his side he at first saw her eyes, green and enticing, then golden chains of flowing hair encasing a smile that spread wide then she was complete, laughing in majesty and grace.
At last the trail was hot and the pursuit was over.
He had found her and battle ensued in a vast expansive compound the abductors disciples fell dead, struck down as the knight was relentless and unforgiving in search for his one true, yet elusive bride.
The showdown gave way to vis-à-vis staring coldly behind brown eyes, enraged he slay his quarry quickly and was the victor.
Galloping home and thanking him, the princess caressed his heart, and his soul began to warm and those eyes burned with passion again.
Yet all stories such as this end the same.
Finding the two growing close the King dealt his hand and forbade his daughter to see him and she seemed in some way relieved as the intensity scared her.
The Knight was lower and hierarchy had spoken, his dream was over and he fell away bitter and rejected.
And some say that he can be seen today screaming for his love but to no avail.
