New Wave
Searching through the late night
Wondering...
Oh how things have changed
I used to stay up so late
Frantically spilling my heart
Pouring out onto the page
And oh how I’ve missed it so
Perhaps the greatest heartache
Abandoning my gifted pen
For some few too many days
Though it has not been silent
I was just stricken by my fate
A wrong turn left at somewhere
Or so I thought, perhaps a mistake
So I was lost and found again
Writhing in self-shame
Until I found the courage to return
Despite what they may say
Perceptions of an onlooker
A past that can’t be erased
I pondered what to do with these
My cherished poems on this slate
Harvest what I could to publish or
Delete them all and leave no trace
Then I decided it was time say
Fuck it, I’m here to stay!

Love this! The denial of the soul's desires can be a real drain. That pen awaits!

I was about to deactivate last week. Then deceided not too
Had a conflict with a fellow poet
We sliced and diced each other
Then when there was no more pain to be given
We worked it out like adults
Then I could stay
I think this is a poem
I'm posting it
Glad you're here
I like reading you

Indeed, poetry is a cathartic release We poets of the world are fortunate to have such a space as DU; it is a home and I wish to be here for many years to come! Thank you for your remarks.

Excellent! Meet what comes headon, then move through and release to grow. ❤
Please don't trash your poems! Let them live. And don't look back or you may become a pillar of salt!

Pushing forward still! I’ve decided to stay for now, we’ll see what the future holds. Looking back is futile, I will only grow from this ❤️
