Under Ground
I passed two women kissing
Young lovers caught in passion
A man jostled against my side
In a hurry to go anywhere
that held a more beautiful sight
than could be seen here
I think not
But I couldn't stay and gaze
I also had to go, catch my train
When I came to the platform
I passed a woman pissing
Old, drunk and stinking
Her back against the wall
Many people passed
It seemed they didn't care
And neither did I really
I took a ride on the Underground
When I stepped off the train
Going to my destination
I passed an old man crying
He held a violin and played softly
Tears rolled and beauty was born
But I couldn't stay and gaze
I had to go and catch a cab
First I placed a bill in his case
I stopped to buy a paper
And caught the sent of desire
It held me transfixed in time
I turned to search for its owner
A pretty smile and hypnotic eyes
I saw a blush flood across her face
Frozen in each other's gaze
I had no where to go now
Young lovers caught in passion
A man jostled against my side
In a hurry to go anywhere
that held a more beautiful sight
than could be seen here
I think not
But I couldn't stay and gaze
I also had to go, catch my train
When I came to the platform

This was completely beautiful on so many levels. I love the exploration of seemingly unrelated stories all connected in a web of beauty only you could see. This fees personal in a way not immediately obvious. This is your skills and talents on parade

Thank you dear friend. It may feel personal because again it's drawn from a real experience. Apparently I only know how to write what I know.

Indeed just a short trip through a dirty subway can be a moment of beauty in time.

Thank you crim, the truth is this..I did see that woman pissing in the London Underground. That was real. The rest is all my fantasy. Trying to make something beautiful from the everyday or even ugly.

That's fantastic!!! You are soooo talented! You can write in so many different tones and ways, and THAT is just beautiful, thought-evoking, and heart wrenching!
Great job, my friend! You amaze me!

Medinda, that was horribly too short, I can not stand it when something so vibrant and fun comes to an end. I think it is bad you did not continue your thoughts. I do not like your selfish way of completing this without giving us an opportunity to see more of your wonderful creation. Sorry Medinda I am not very good at criticising Good works

this is so romantic like at the end...I love the second paragraph, just the way you describe a chick to be almost like a guy would do and the rhyme of the words are great too...Thanks again for the recommendation and it is another good read. You are a gifted poet and love reading your pieces:)

Thank you, I really loved writing this. I just mentally went back to London and what stuck in my mind was seeing a woman peeing in public like she was the only one there. And the rest. .
