Lagoon
in the
open wilderness we
breathe as one walking along
the jagged tales of salted rock and
the splashing songs hidden
in rising tides
we are
lovers lost and found on
a faraway lagoon
marooned under the watchful eye
of our guardian moon
where we share love laughter
food and drink
we rest
inside the shelter of
enfolding arms and spread thighs
our bodies symbolize shades of infinity
through strokes of fingers and
the caress of lips
we are
immortal warriors taking
reprieve from the day's battle
basking in the sweet remembrance
of life's true treasures
measured beyond the scope
of modern mathematics
for there is no equation
that can quantify
the coming together of two souls
united in one purpose
proving night after night
there's always been a difference
between knowing the facts
and living the truth
