just an opinion held at heart
about freedom
of expression
and also partly inspired by a blog i came across
on Bukowski and how some of the so called elite academics to this day shun or refuse to take Buk's work as poetry.

I respect Bukowsky a great deal. He was crude but also a straight shooter, no bullshit there. I like that. He was right on many accounts. Especially about some of the most acclaimed literature...I thought I was too thick to understand and appreciate, but when I listened to Buk, he said it right: "It's boring!"

same here... about the respect, perhaps the raw, stark truth in his delivery is what appeals to his fans more than anything else. Sterile, neat and tidy...well if that is someone's taste then they have the absolute freedom and so do Bukowski's fans to see and say what they see. Criticism is fine...intolerance...well totally diferent thing. Elitism is not evil but ignoring the vast populace is utterly prudish i say. Absoute agreement re "its boring!"
