The long and the short of it,
the loops and the bends
with you in my life
I sure do depend
You lead me down paths
both narrow and tall
I'll reach out for you
whenever you fall
You're my beginning
my middle
and you'll be here
to the very end
Creating memories
never to be erased
points writ in perfection
can forever be traced
I've come to rely on you,
my pencil, my friend
