Before the Twilight

your supine body
baring me
your aquiver lips
trying to mutter
a dying wish
in my ears

I too crave
serendipity
as an ineffable thirst
drying my breath

your sonorous cry
felt familiar...

the ethereal feeling
dampening my throat
satisfying me
like a petrichor
on a barren land

as I fed my thirst
