the forgotten
depression lingers just outside my door
I invite him in he's the only visitor
who comes to spend time with me
I sit in limbo
where feelings are rare
so when he comes
with a dose of melancholy
I get my fix
and ride it all the way down
to a place called despair
this is where depression lives
I'm always welcome
it's where I can relax
and be myself
without anyone looking
a pessimist by nature
I let it all hang out
with doomsday prophesies
i'm never surprised
when things go bad
expecting the worst
is what i'm good at
so I sit back and drink
my piss on the day booze
as anger sidles up
then takes a good look at me
thinks for a moment and says
"why don't you just stay here?"
"the rest the world
dun forgotten you"
