THE TULIP

I found a tulip in my backyard yesterday
I love its spunk and attitude
It's growing there despite being in bad soil
Despite the cold and freeze warnings
Its determination is to be admired
I find it more beautiful in its solidarity
 
Its as if it's telling me to stand tall
To combat all the turmoil of life
Stay focused from the things happening around me
Find the determination to remain myself
Despite what others may think or say about me
Simply be the person God intended me to be
Being defiant will find inner strength which is beautiful
