Marilyn Meets Barbie

my dreams collide in grief's embrace
and I realize I've died somewhere in time
entered the realm of not giving a fuck

the entry to this place came with a great ache
I travailed as in childbirth
to emerge numb
dead to caring if I was good enough

because in all my trying
to be the perfect archetype of a woman
I failed
I was never enough
not pretty enough
not domestic enough
I came up short
and I fell hard into the reality of it

the makeup I used to dolly myself up with
sits in a case untouched
with my womanly desire to please
I realize I don't care anymore

I sheered my long locks
I let the forest take over my female parts
a warning to all that enter
come in at your own risk you may get lost here

all my preconceived thoughts
and all that was shoved down my throat
of what a true woman is
I vomited up

gone are my perfectly manicured nails
mankind has assaulted my senses
with callous handling of my heart

now I confront them with sexuality that can't be denied
wrapped in a confusing package
I am woman
with all her deep desires
I am sex and all the carnal gifts that come with it

yet I refuse to bow and package myself
with an image that is all but perfect
Marilyn Monroe meets barbie
yes I was all that

still there was younger pussy on the horizon
you reveled there
all the while falling deeper in love with me

now reformed you got in line
and wonder why I refuse to
my heart can't forget
you abandoned me when I needed you most

I was beautiful, dutiful and blind
I loved you wholly
you hurt me

now I confront you with my plain face
you hunger I feed you porn
I accept my place
you want me to serve you
I served you
it wasn't enough

so I left you in my heart
secreted myself away
now only revealing myself to the masses
because they see me

the men that carouse here, see me
taste my sex without touching me
know my hunger without a word said

the lady you seek is in front of you
just open your eyes and receive me
