Psyche
Disconnected feigning courage
stubborn tenacity
convinced torment, mine to bear
diligent despite potency
anguish, my affliction
grief exists for me to own
weighing heavy on my soul
haunting melancholy prone
this cross assumes no truth
as my conduct is observed
self-serving isolation
inflicting heartache on undeserved
undoing the distress and agony
offers relief in brief pauses
while others attempt to decipher
limitless latent causes
intense empathy and compassion
for those outside of me
how is it my hubris
permits existence of such a psyche?
