A walk home in the rain while the master cylinder gets replaced

Freshly poured slate concrete pillar towers
ambulance bumper silver buffer greenways
high school science looked down on us as ignorant's
used tires in the creeks sink with tossed fast food cups

chicken and waffle steep hills stagger
standing on car squished pigeons hungry hurry hustle
cherry kitchen showroom floors ending at doors to thin air
green moss micro blankets move soundly in their sleepy soliloquy

from the frail faded red mortuary masonry
throwing antique bookshelves to down in the ground mausoleums
tell me what did you remember from this life
brittle broken pages off the top of your head

thin framed coffee bar barista sweater Betty's and Sally's
wool cloth so thick they could sink ships like Yokosuka D4Y's
awkward sidewalk hello's recur on looping playback
we're all hunchbacks of Notre-Dame

just up until you read our eyes
beating heart's saturation's
in east Tennessee a simple acknowledging head nod will do
