TEMPORARY DEATH

The soothing hands we long for
To ferry us to yonder lands
This gift of divine bliss
We often do not hold dear
This God -made wonder...

The joys it gives a mother
Whose wailing child it's finally claimed
The joy it brings the man
whose back all day has been bent in labour

How we long everyday
to lay to rest life's woes
How we long for sleep; temporary death
A preview of eternal peace

Author's Note
It is a common saying that we do not know the value of what we have until we lose it. My new schedule which has reduced drastically my hours of rest led me to appreciating this awesome gift of God.
It also births the question, where do we go when we sleep? ( I leave you (readers) to answer this question)
