Silence

 
There are different types of silence,
The kind that is “sharp like shattered glass”.
You can feel it breaking through your ears, traveling to your brain and slicing your heart with the silent screams that come with it.
It’s a pain never seen, but easily described as destructive.

There is the “Prue silence” that causes piercing ringing in your ears.
The kind where you can hear your heart; each slow, loud and hard beat inside of your chest.
When you can hear the wind swirling through the walls and through the air vent, and the little drops of water from the leaking faucet become loud thumps bursting in your ears.
