Cleanse My Black Heart
soft raindrops fall upon my face
hiding shameful tears from convicted sins
feeling your warm luv thru Angel’s tears
heart pounding more with every step
beautiful sun shinning from above
lighting my path never losing away to You
I fall to my knees with sobbing eyes
surrendering my soul in prayer
to cleanse this black stained heart
my sinful actions have forsaken faith
thank you Lord for luving me as I am
although I’m unworthy of your heavenly grace
hearing your sultry voice whispering to my heart
with gentle luv changing these sinful ways
words of life guiding me to a place of serenity

This brings to memory a song sung at a simple country church when I was a ranch hand and attended sometimes (not much to do otherwise if you ain't night fishin' or froggin')
I believe the hymn is _Cleanse me -- they sang it a lot or otherwise I would not have remembered.

Yeah they are -- i still hold to memory many a country gospel song
even though i now follow zen Buddhism (a gentler and kinder path for my sensitive spirit)
But often,
i find myself still singing those songs in the shower, today -- LOL :)
