What Isn't Mine
How can you lose something
never once yours?
I can taste vanilla
that doesn't belong to me
And see dimmed eyes,
once bright,
that are someone else's to admire now.
What could have been
is what shouldn't have been
Why trap a butterfly
that has better places to go?
Why chase a cat down the street
when it's running,
into the starry night, away.
never once yours?
I can taste vanilla
that doesn't belong to me
And see dimmed eyes,
once bright,
that are someone else's to admire now.
What could have been
is what shouldn't have been
Why trap a butterfly
that has better places to go?
Why chase a cat down the street
when it's running,
into the starry night, away.
