What If I Could...? Would You Love Me?
I wonder what would happen if I could fly?
Would I see the sun go bye?
Would I laugh and not cry?
Would I love and not die?
Could I see everyone I miss?
If I could fly would you love me?
If you don't love me then,
What If I could swim like a fish?
Would I love the water more?
Would I watch the others swim?
Would I find a mermaid?
Would I sneak up on the people I love?
Would you love me then?
If I could swim like a fish would you love me then?
If you still can't love me then what about this,
What if I could be the world?
Could I say I gave you the life you deserve?
Could I say I am beautiful because I’m nature?
Would I be a loving planet for all of you?
Would you love me then or
What if I were an everlasting flame?
Hot, warm, cold, what would I be?
Would I make you smile when you look at me?
Would I bring families together in winter to warm them?
Would I be so bright and beautiful as if dancing?
If I could be all these things then at least I could be there when you need me.
At least that way you would love me,
Or would you still not love me?
If not that what can I do?
Do you love me at all?

...the trick to using questions as a technique to expose or unwrap ideas is to use questions that we care about.
I wonder what would happen if I could fly?
Would I laugh and not cry? How does this relate to the ability to fly?
Would I love and not die? same here.
Would I watch the other fish? why ask this?
Would I find a mermaid? Why ask this?
Would I sneak up on the people I love? Why, are they fish too?

Could I say I am beautiful because I’m nature? 'I'm' doesn't work here.
Would I make you smile when you look at me? Because you are a flame?
If I could be all these things then at least I could be there when you need me.
At least that way you would love me.
The last two lines are the idea behind the poem? If so, then re-work the writing above to flow more neatly into the idea....sneaking up on fish-people doesn't seem to have that much to do with your idea.
