Forever Blue

This rose once Red
now forever blue
grow silent in the shadows
beyond the place she once grew

Time turned her dark
uncompassionate and cruel
but behind that rock
lies a priceless jewel

The sun calls to her
promising light on her path
yet reluctantly she waits
tasting failure in the past

hes there for a while
then hides in the night
when the dark returns
can he still be her light?

So remain in the dark she will
a place familiar to her
consider the light she wont
for this story she already heard

although one day she may return
the red will never be true
scarred from the weeds tight grasp
never to be red, now forever blue.
